Moving Made Easy

Ha! That's a ridiculous headline. Moving is never easy, even when someone else does the heavy lifting / loading / driving / unloading / unpacking. After months of waiting for the house to sell, we decided to just pull the trigger and go anyway. We'll lease it to someone and be landlords. All that waiting gave us time to sort and pack and discard and give away. We've shed so much baggage it will be mostly a snap to lift/load etc. What makes it a joy, though, is knowing we have an ideal place to move TO, work that suits us, common goals chosen on purpose, and the pleasure of each other's company. Won't be long now, just a few days. Eyes on the prize.

  1. Kelly, I am so happy for you, even though I will miss having you in Redding. You have been a great voice for the rest of us liberals in Redding.
Best of luck to you and Steve.

  6. Where are you moving to? I didn't hear New Mexico...
Glad you're glad. I just closed on an investment condo I had today. Almost paid her to take it. Didn't make a penny, but I'm out from under, and that feels good. Hope you get terrific renters in there.
All the best. (it would take moving to make me pear down. i don't say that proudly.)

  9. "common goals chosen on purpose, and the pleasure of each other's company." Good for you guys - that's so far ahead of the curve... 37th year and we're just getting back to this awareness. The empty nest was empty long before the fledglings came along...

  10. I lived in Monterey while in the military in the mid and late seventies, and I have fond memories of Santa Cruz in the sunshine while a gray blanket of fog covered Monterey. I hope both of you have a grand life in Santa Cruz. Thanks for being part of our community here in Shasta County.
