Patio Snake
It was as tiny as an earthworm. But there was no mistaking that flickering, forked tongue and sidewinder moves. A red stripe raced down its back. The miniature snake has been liberated to a far pasture, but a question remains. Where is the rest of the family?

Snakes aren't really big on family activities. They don't write, they don't call, they don't spend the holidays together.
(Of course, they MIGHT be in your basement, waiting for an invitation to slither up and have breakfast with you.)
Perhaps the rest of the family is under that rock you're gonna move in a few months or behind that planter on the patio waiting to be relocated before winter arrives. You can never be too careful................Boo!

Far pasture? How far? Did you box it to take? Or did you shuttle it across the street?
We set it free behind the backyard wall.
Yeah, that's probably where it came from in the first place...you know how neighbors like to spring surprises.
No neighbors behind our wall, just green space. But I should have put him in the strawberry patch. He's a sharp-tailed snake that likes slugs for breakfast.
