Here are the preferred American spellings:
judgment
acknowledgment
abridgment
You sometimes see them spelled with an interpolated 'e': judgement, acknowledgement and abridgement. That's an outdated Britishism. We don't use it anymore.

I love your posts on language. Thank you. Of course I'm now squinching my face and moaning because I can not spell worth beans, and will forget your lesson by tomorrow. My husband, on the other hand, is a superb speller and proofreader.
I must be wearing orthopedic shoes, because once again, I stand corrceted.
